Marklin 30111 Retro DRG E 44 Electric
Class E 44 Electric Locomotive
The New Old E 44
They still delight Marklin fans all over the world with their timeless elegance: The rugged Marklin locomotives constructed of die-cast metal from the Fifties and Sixties. The E 44 undoubtedly counts among the especially beautiful models of that time. It conquered the hearts of model railroaders between 1954 and 1968. Now Marklin is issuing this icon again in the old form with modern digital technology. The fascinating Marklin era of the Economic Miracle years now comes to life again with the tin-plate Karwendel Express cars constructed of metal - on a layout or as genuine eyecatchers in a display case.

Prototype: German State Railroad Company (DRG) class E 44 electric locomotive. Bluish gray basic paint scheme. Double-arm pantographs included. Locomotive road number E 44 024. The locomotive looks as it did around 1934.

Model: This is a reissue of a Marklin classic. The locomotive has an mfx digital decoder. It also has controlled, high-efficiency propulsion. 2 axles powered. Traction tires. Dual headlights change over with the direction of travel, will work in conventional operation, and can be controlled digitally. The 3rd headlight under the roof is merely indicated. The locomotive body and frame are constructed of metal. There are coupler hooks at both ends of the locomotive. The packaging has a colored representation of the locomotive based on the historic packaging of that time. Length over the buffers 16.5 cm / 6-1/2.

The Tin Plate Karwendel Express passenger car set to go with the class E 44 electric locomotive can be found in the Marklin H0 assortment under item number 40361.
