Roco 78266 Diesel Locomotive class 106
From 1955, the Deutsche Reichsbahn of the GDR developed the diesel-hydraulic locomotive V 60 for medium-heavy shunting service. These machines were primarily intended to put an end to the inefficient use of steam locomotives in shunting service. From 1962 to 1964, the company LKM Babelsberg delivered with 163 locomotives the first series to the DR. During the construction of the first main series, even a rain protection roof was installed on top of the side windows. As a result of new service regulations, the DR shunting locomotives were in the course of revisions gradually painted with an orange-yellow color.
