Description: Tamiya’s series of ultra-realistic 1/14 scale R/C trucks has offered fun and realistic driving for the past several decades! This new kit takes that driving fun to the next level with this tow truck, which makes its living towing heavy duty vehicles such as semi-tractor trucks. It promises a completely different element of enjoyment to predecessors in the series. The kit seen here recreates the FH16 that is marketed by Volvo, a renowned manufacture in the global commercial vehicle market. The FH Series includes a 750hp 16.1-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine FH16 Globetrotter 750 8x4 tow truck.

★The massive, stately form of this tow truck is captured with exceptional realism. You won't be able to wait to start towing!	★Stainless steel photo-etched front grille parts add to the authenticity. Separately sold LEDs can be used to light the model up.	★Visor and roof lights are metal plated components for that extra touch. Escape hatch, antenna and so on are recreated in style.
★Both front axles are steered on this model, with a single servo used to turn the wheels. Wheels turn realistically at different angles.	★A look here at the base ladder frame chassis, which is a sturdy affair composed of aluminum side channels and resin cross members.	★The body of the truck is adorned with a light bar that is constructed using a clear orange case and can be lit up with separately sold LEDs.
★This is a close-up upon the winch boom, which features dual winches and cables depicted using 5 meters of string provided in the kit.	★Boom length and angle can be adjusted, the former up to an impressive 586mm long. The latter gives three different angles.	★The underlift can be extended and retracted, and features adjustable forks. It turns on a joint to enable smooth cornering.
★Opening doors on the body give a realistic look, and also allow access to install separately sold MFC and Actuator units.	★Outriggers are affixed via cap screws, which can be loosened to allow manual extension, and give a further layer of realism.	★This is a close-up on the rear suspension, where a trunnion setup is employed using metal leaf springs and friction dampers.
★Dual rear tires provide a sturdy base for the vehicle, and also are given realistic tread pattern.

Electric Actuator Set for Tipper Truck (Sold Separately)
This separately sold set allows raising of the winch boom and underlift via R/C controls. It uses a precision geared motor and spindle cylinder, plus the ACU-02 unit, and also features a toggle switch for manual control.

Realistic Lights, Sounds, and Vibration
Tamiya Multi-Function Control Units (sold separately) offer light, sound, and vibration operation to accompany your R/C truck experience. Engine sounds have been digitally recorded from an actual truck, and together with air horn, gear shifting, and many other realistic sounds, give you the feeling that you are driving the real thing! Headlights, brake lights, fog lamp, hazard lights and turn signal operations are also at your fingertips. A 4-channel R/C system and multi-function unit allow you to drive the vehicle and experience realistic lights, sounds and vibrations (Both sold separately).

Comments: The Tamiya Multi Function Control Unit is not included and provides many different truck related sound effects.

Both vehicle types require a 4 channel stick type radio for full function. If you're going to outfit your vehicle with one of our multifunction units (MFU), you will need to choose a analog radio. Shifting into gear is extremely easy once your transmission is adjusted correctly.

Our Semi trucks and Highlifts use 3speed transmissions for more maneuverability and true scale realism. Whether you're hauling a big load or climbing some rough terrain, the ability to shift into low gear can make the difference. High speed runs are no problem once you kick it into 3rd gear, when its time to move out!

Below you will see the basic concept on how the servo moves the transmission into all three gears. It is best to get the transmission adjusted with your trims centered and only using the collar on the transmission rod to adjust final increments. This will allow for the best operation if you're using a MFU unit.

*Make sure to use loctite on the grub screw in the collar to prevent having to readjust the transmission again.

*Taking a little extra time to set the transmission up will provide you with better performance and less adjustments down the road.
